Dole Pineapple Plantation

Sorry for the awful picture...I took it quickly from the car as we were leaving.



The train ride was the highlight of the trip for Abby.  She asked to "wide fain again" for 3 days after we went.  It is a 20 minute ride that takes you around part of the plantation and gives you the history of pineapple on Hawaii and the Dole Pineapple Plantation.

Pineapple fields & the red dirt (due to oxidized iron in the volcanic soil) perfect for growing pineapples.

After the train ride we wandered around the gift shop and then got some Dole Whip, which is basically pineapple soft serve...yummy!
